•
Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues,

It is not a coincidence that the European Association for Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery (EACMFS) has become one of the leading OMFS Associations worldwide. Strong leadership with emphasis in continuing education and harmonisation of our specialty with the highest possible standards as well as the organisation of the biennial European conferences in prime locations of our continent has contributed immensely to that goal.
Taking over the baton of the EACMFS Presidency for 2024-2026 I feel determined to contribute to the upward trajectory of our Association placing it firmly in the leading seat not only via the forthcoming 28th EACMFS Congress in Athens, Greece, 15-18 September 2026, to which I cordially invite you, but also through the continuous engagement with our Association for the years leading to the Congress. This engagement will be based upon 5 main themes:

-Investment in our trainees
-Investment in the most dynamically developing segment of our workforce: women in OMFS
-Investment in the harmonisation of the specialty across Europe
-Investment in research and education
-Investment in the “visibility” of the specialty across social media and beyond... And finally:
-Investment in the 28th EACMFS Congress Athens, 15-18 September 2026“From Foundation to Innovation: Harnessing our surgical future”

ATHENS is an “all time” classic location. Our conference will be held very close to the historic city centre in the unique “Megaron Athens International Conference Centre”.
The location of the conference centre with the backdrop of Acropolis offers a unique combination of a showcase of groundbreaking innovations of a vibrant, ambitious surgical specialty immersed in the cultural environment of classical Athens. The Congress program will be dedicated to the tremendous innovations affecting all facets of our specialty centred around the classical humanistic foundations of medicine affecting the Patient.
Additionally, the Congress will be devoted to the latest in OMFS built upon dedicated thematic sessions in traditional as well as emerging topics affecting the provision of healthcare and ultimately determining our common surgical future.
Our trainees, our female colleagues, our researchers and their clinical impact as well as our allied health specialists will have a protagonistic role in the format of the Congress. The journey of EACMFS 2024-2026 begins now and I warmly invite you to join us in shaping our surgical future!

Nicholas KalavrezosPresident EACMFS
