Topic: Zirconia Implants: The State of Art 
After his studies in Dentistry and Technical Mineralogy and his activities as Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Freiburg, Germany Jens Fischer became Manager Research & Development at Cendres & Métaux SA in Biel, Switzerland in 1991. From 1998 he had an appointment as Associate Professor for Dental Materials and Vice Chair at the Clinic for Removable Prosthodontics, University of Bern, Switzerland. In 2005 he changed to the Clinics for Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Materials, Center for Dental Medicine at the University of Zurich and became head of the Dental Materials Section. Since 2008 Jens Fischer is Director of the Business Unit vitaclinical at VITA, Germany. In this position he is responsible for the development, production and marketing of a zirconia based implant system. Also in 2008 he became head of the Division of Dental Materials and Engineering at the University Hospital for Dental Medicine, University of Basel, Switzerland. In 2013 Jens Fischer additionally took responsibility for the Research & Development of VITA.
