Many dentists around the world have already integrated aspects of digital dentistry into their practice; many more now want to incorporate. However it can be an expensive, complicated process to go Digital. As a pioneer in digital dentistry, Ian will present his personal story of how he started with Digital Photography 20 years ago, followed by Digital Cosmetic Imaging 15 years ago; the course will start with an overview, videos, and live demonstrations of these two important tools for any modern dentist to master. He will also discuss how Digital Impression taking and the workflow involved can simplify your practice, and improve the quality of the dentistry you provide. Dr Ian is Course Director of DENTER, Dental Education Resources, www.denter.co.uk, whose motto is “Excellence through Simplicity”.

MASTERCLASS - The Comprehensive TADs Master Class Course (Theory)

Dr Abdelhakim EL GHERIANI
Langue :

The event will take place online as well as on the location (CAPP Training Institute) at the same time.

Abstract

Temporary anchorage devices have become a mainstay of contemporary clinical practice offering guaranteed control of anchorage for both routine and complex tooth movements. This course will outline some of the more common TADs in use today and show placement from first principles. Anatomy of placement sites and advantages and disadvantages of these sites will be discussed. Simple direct and indirect mechanics will be shown to facilitate controlled anteroposterior tooth movements. Anterior open bite case management will be discussed. Hands On course will require the participants to practice placing TADs in different sites as well as work through the steps of making a miniscrew retained orthodontic appliance.

MASTERCLASS - Bleaching. Myth and reality.Live treatment demo

Langue :
  • Anglais

The course will present beside the necessary theoretical knowledge a live treatment demonstration with real patients.

Course Outline

The course will start with a lecture that will cover the biological backround necessary to perform an appropriate bleaching process. The classification of stains will be discussed in order to understand treatment possibilities and limitations. Different materials, presentations and methods will be presented. The use of light, heat and other tricks will be discussed.

After the break, the differences and similarities between in-office and home bleaching will be discovered. When to do which technique is going to be adviced. How and when to make intracameral bleaching is also going to be presented.

Afterwards, several clinical cases will be presented showing how to make the process step by step. Then a live demonstration will be done in models and with several real patients.

MASTERCLASS - Simplicity with Anterior & Posterior Direct Restorations

SEMINAR- Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique

The use of intraoral scanners is not only a substitute for conventional impression, but opens the door to a new way of diagnosing, planning and treating our patients. In our lecture, we will try to show through clinical cases how digital dentistry has impacted our daily flow in prosthodontics.

SEMINAR- Everyday Orthodontics: Interceptive (Early) Orthodontic Treatment

Abstract

Orthodontics is a major part in the field of dental and oral health. A review of the scope of practice of orthodontics and an update of the latest advances will be discussed. The main part of the presentation will discuss Interceptive (Early) Orthodontics. Interceptive orthodontics is orthodontic treatment that is initiated during the primary or mixed dentition. Providing information about this will empower dentists and pediatric dental specialists to identify and manage patients who would benefit from this treatment. This course will review the nature and etiology of early orthodontic problems and discuss how to deal with them. Basic growth and development and biomechanics will be discussed. Furthermore, case selection and orthodontic appliance design will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

Describe the controversies surrounding early orthodontic treatment
Explain the types of common dental developmental anomalies
Examine how to manage patients exhibiting common dental anomalies
Discuss strategies the General Dentist - Orthodontist - Pedodontist collaboration to optimize patient health and welfare

SEMINAR- Non Prep and 0 Bevel Composites. How to Excel with Really Non-Invasive Direct Procedures

Try to answer this question honestly:

If you will need a restoration in your mouth, which characteristics should fulfil the material and the technique?

I am sure your answer will be straight away: Minimal invasive or hopefully, it should be applied without preparation of the teeth and it should integrate evidently perfect even in very thin layers

Well, I have good news, because composites are nowadays achieving exactly these characteristics if we have the necessary knowledge and skills! It is true that in the past there were many drawbacks with composite application. Complicate adhesion procedures, handling problems, color stability, excessive wear and surface deterioration. Especially for anterior restorations color stability, minimal surface roughness and final gloss are crucial.

Based on the previous limitations, the techniques that we learned in dental school were also not ideal. Most of us were taught, that whenever a restoration was placed in the anterior region, a bevel should be performed in order to get a better transition and that it was impossible to mask or to integrate perfectly without one.

Well, thanks to the new improvements in composite science, modern composite can mimic the value as well as the chroma of the teeth. With the variety of shades, opacities, and effects that modern systems are offering, no preparation or bevel is needed if we understand how to use them. This is especially practical in patients that present wear or have spaces to be closed since these teeth are caries-free in most of the cases.

The lecture will give guidelines regarding the choice of materials, show new techniques with composites in the anterior region, explain from a biomechanical perspective why it is better not to bevel in may cases and present a simplified layering concept and discuss the limitations of them.

SEMINAR- The “Dahl Concept”and management of Anterior toothwear

In this 1 hour live webinar, Dr Ian will share his thoughts and experience of using this simple, yet poorly understood and practiced technique for managing anterior tooth wear. He incorporated this into his practice over 20 years ago, and will illustrate the concepts with numerous cases from his Private Central London Practice.

Learning objectives

Understand the multifactorial nature of tooth surface loss
Diagnose & create a treatment plan for the worn anterior dentition
What does the literature say about the use of the Dahl concept
The importance of patient communication with this approach to treatment
Step by step “Dahl buildups”
Which type of cases should you tackle first?
Common mistakes and how to best manage them
Longevity and maintenance of your cases

MASTERCLASS - Advance Anterior Composites - Mastering Closing Diastemas and Correcting Peg Laterals

Langue :
  • Anglais

The course will cover the necessary knowledge to know what to do when spaces are present in the anterior region. First, the participants will evaluate the model and plan how to prepare, if necessary. Afterwards they will prepare the teeth and then they will have to restore them one by one keeping the proportions. Several techniques for closing diastemas will be shown. The pulling technique, the reverse pulling technique, the FEM technique and the Wing technique will be explained in detail. The Hands-on will finish with the demonstration of finishing and polishing.

All the steps will be shown by the instructor with an HD camera with high magnification for explanation of all the details.

Dr Jose ESPONA
Langue :
  • Anglais

Course Objective

To know the Biological Oriented Preparation Technique and its clinical applications.
To stablish the conceptual basis of the Biological Oriented Preparation Technique: reduction of dental volume, gingival abrasion, completion of the provisional restoration and determination of the final contour.
To make a correct diagnosis and planning to perform the Biological Oriented Preparation Technique.
To master the timing of provisionalization and maturation of tissues.

The course will cover the necessary knowledge to master advance anterior aesthetic direct restorations. After the introductory basics and clinical cases discussion the participants will immediately prepare the teeth 11, 12, 21 and 22. They will have to restore the central and lateral incisors due to problems in their proportions, insufficient length, a class Iv defect with a direct veneer. The right use of the different shades and opacities plus the necessary skills and knowledge for achieving the right shape, contours and natural appearance will be the focus of the course.
